Brad Wrobleski

When I was three I woke up in the middle of the night, stood up on my bed and looked out the window into the cold Winnipeg winter night. There, in the middle of the dark, on the snow covered street was a rabbit. Excited by the discovery, I wrestled on my clothes and winter boots and went out the front door to find the rabbit. As I followed the bunnie's tracks I heard a knocking sound. I looked up and saw the neighbours in their window, in their pyjamas, staring at me. They called my mom and she came out the front door and... not too happy... took me home. After chasing the rabbit we moved to Calgary, and I spent all my time at Fish Creek when it was a ranch. I used to get kicked out by the cowboys. When not exploring, I would spend many hours after school in the Andrew Sibbald elementary library flipping through the pages of the yellow bordered copies of National Geographic dreaming of becoming an adventure photographer. Years later, at the age of 23, while climbing Mt. Denali in Alaska, I made the decision to pursue my dream of adventuring around the world and taking photos. Since then, photography and adventures has been my life. My passion has taken me around the world to all continents, 65 countries and given me some amazing adventures. Since that night in Winnipeg my photos have been in National Geographic and I keep chasing rabbits.

Before teaching, I created images and shot video for the magazine, stock, commercial photography and television industries.  My work and nomadic tendencies has taken me to a number of places on this amazing planet. Some of my favourites are Japan, France, Iceland, Egypt, India, the Yukon, Nepal, Chile, Alaska, Borneo, Tanzania, Tierra del Fuego and Antarctica. I love the wild places and the places rich with culture.

My photography has won two Canadian National Magazine Awards, several best photo awards and various awards for creating entertaining and exciting films including best radical reel and the Peoples Choice Award at the Banff Mountain Film Fesitval.
My clients include: Backpacker, Men's Journal, National Geographic, Patagonia, Black Diamond, Lowe Pro, MEC, Outdoor Photographer, Photo Life, National Geographic television, Newsweek, GEO (Japan)The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Vertical, People, Outside, Explore, Climbing, Explore, Rock + Ice, Berge, The National Film Board of Canada, BBC, Red Bull, Outdoor Life Network, Foster Parents Plan International (volunteer India and Thailand), Canadian Business, National Geographic Adventure, Ski Canada, Mcleans and Sports Illustrated.

One of the best experiences of my life was being the artist in residence for Maple Ridge Elementary, teaching and inspiring k-4 the art of seeing and creating photography.

I recently completed a Masters of Science degree from the University of Calgary specializing in artificial intelligence, education and photography. This experience has opened the door to making online learning a more interactive, fun, personal experience. I use this knowledge and experience to create my online classes.

Looking forward to hanging out with you soon and having some great photography adventures!
