I love Waterton!
The prairies of Alberta meet the peaks of the Rocky Mountains in Waterton Lakes National Park. Clear lakes, thundering waterfalls, rainbow-coloured streams, colourful rocks and mountain vistas await hikers and sightseers. With an exceptional diversity of wildlife and wildflowers and a cozy little waterfront town to serve as a home base, Waterton packs a big natural punch into a relatively small and accessible area. I’ve been to Waterton at least 50 times and know the best locations and when to get the best light. This weekend adventure takes place at the height of the amazing wildflowers season and is scheduled to take advantage of the 2022 Waterton Wildflower Festival. "In the Crown of the Continent, western North America’s major climatic zones converge from the Pacific Northwest, Great Plains, and Rocky Mountains. In the middle of this convergence lies Waterton Lakes National Park, home to an impressive diversity of native wildflowers. Over 1,000 species of vascular plants, including more than 50 of Canada’s rare flowers, can be found in this Wildflower Capital of Canada." Waterton has incredible night/Astro photography as there is zero light pollution and we will be photographing amazing waterfalls, and Cameron lake at sunrise and famous Red Rock canyon and rare orchids and lots of my secret spots. I’ll be providing special food and drink treats. There are camping, BnB and hotel options- such as the Bayshore hotel in Waterton town. This weekend adventure is 2 nights two full days and Friday night. We'll have a great BBQ. We'll have high tea at the legendary Prince of Wales Hotel. |
