There is not a specific camera we would recommend other than one than a brand name, Canon, Nikon, Sony, Lumix or Pentax DSLR.
Can you recommend a good general purpose lens suitable for this course?
For this course a good lens is something in a focal range between 20 mm and 200 mm. We suggest a 18-55mm, 24-70 mm or 24-105 mm lens.

The course will be a combination of classroom time with lots of hands-on, interactive exercises that will help you to practice your skills
