This special photography adventure is an opportunity to learn how to photograph one of nature's greatest events while we shoot amazing...Aurora Borealis!
Although they need no introduction...When charged particles from the sun strike atoms in Earth's atmosphere, they cause electrons in the atoms to move to a higher-energy state. When the electrons drop back to a lower energy state, they release a photon: light. This process creates the beautiful Aurora (its so great it deserves to a capital letter), or northern lights! This photo adventure will take you to the best places with cool things like old barns and mountains to witness this amazing event and learn how to shoot it as we photograph Aurora. Brad will show you how to make the most of camera such focusing system, ISO, White Balance and other camera features and lenses to capture this spectacular event. Think of it as a night workshop where aurora is the main subject!
How it works...
We are beginning Aurora season and its been off to an amazing start! Brad and his aurora loving photography friends will be watching all forecasts. When the forecast is good and lady Aurora is appearing you will get an aurora alert from me to your Smartphone and we will head out to a location close to Edmonton (not Elk Island) and Calgary and shoot. The shoot will be in great locations with little light pollution and beautiful foregrounds. We will also bring a tent to light up as foreground!
We will do it several times throughout the Aurora season so there will be lots of opportunities for your schedule. If not, you get a full refund. We will sip delicious drinks (maybe Champagne:)) and eat tasty snacks as we shoot.
Workshop is limited to 6 participants
